Joker Playlist apresenta: Symphony X - Awakenings

Já havia algum tempo que eu não falava de música por aqui, então venho desta vez trazendo a coluna musical deste folhetim virtual, a Joker Playlist.

A banda que apresento desta vez é o Symphony X. Fundada em 1994, pelo guitarrista Michael Romeo, é uma das grandes bandas na cena do metal progressivo hoje em dia. Seu vocalista, Russel Allen, que integra a banda desde o segundo álbum, possui uma das mais belas e potentes vozes do metal.

A música que lhes apresento, Awakenings (do álbum The Odyssey), é uma das mais belas composições que já tive a chance de ouvir. Iniciando de modo lento, numa atmosfera que me faz recordar ao jogo Castlevania - Symphony of the Night, vai ganhando peso para chegar a um magistral solo de piano, mesclando peso e melodia de forma excepcional.

Sua letra é bem reflexiva, uma das quais eu mais me identifiquei no decorrer da vida. Chega de papo, confiram esta obra prima do heavy metal por vocês mesmos.
